The People’s Pool
The People’s Pool will be a beautiful, heated, open-air pool on Merseyside for everyone to enjoy, all year round.
And it’ll be much more than a swimming pool. With great food, exercise and wellbeing facilities and shared spaces, it’ll be somewhere we can all come together, any time, whatever the weather.
A day out at the open-air baths was once a joyous fixture of every Merseyside summer, and day trippers travelled hundreds of miles to visit our glorious seaside pools.
Then one by one, despite some fierce community campaigns, they were all lost.
But now the tide is turning. All over the country, lidos are springing back into life, and people of all ages and backgrounds are enjoying them in ever-increasing numbers.
Now it’s our turn.
We’ve made a lot of headway towards making it a reality, and right now, we need you. We plan to design the Pool around the various needs, wishes and dreams of our whole community.
